Have you ever prayed one of those bold, uncomfortable prayers? You know the kind Craig Groeschel talks about in his book Dangerous Prayers — prayers like “God, search me,” “use me,” or “send me.” I recently read the book, and it hit me hard. Groeschel challenges us to move beyond safe, comfortable prayers and fully surrender to God’s will for our lives. The problem is, many of us secretly imagine that saying “yes” to God will lead to something dramatic — like packing up and becoming a missionary in another country.
As we move deeper into Lent—that sacred 40-day stretch that mirrors Jesus’ own time in the wilderness—I keep coming back to one verse that feels both simple and impossible: “Do what is right and good in the LORD’s sight…” (Deuteronomy 6:18)
