Milagro - Miracle
Milagro- Miracle
The week of Thanksgiving, I was in the kitchen prepping for everything that needed to get done before our family gatherings. As I stood there alone, getting things together, I suddenly heard a word drop into my spirit: “milagro.”
It stopped me in my tracks. Even though I grew up in a Hispanic family, I didn’t grow up speaking Spanish. My grandparents, family and in-laws are fluent, and I heard a lot of Spanish growing up, so I picked up bits here and there. I even gave Duolingo a shot a time or two… only to give up later.
But this moment felt different. I literally paused and thought, “Lord, why would You speak to me in Spanish?” I felt it so clearly that I said, “Whoa, Lord, I know that was You, but I need to confirm this.” I opened a translation app just to be sure, and there it was:
Milagro = Miracle!
Later I told my husband about the one word I had received in my spirit. Milagro. Miracle. Immediately, we were both filled with an unexpected rush of hope and joy. But I still wrestled with the meaning. Why just one word? Was it a miracle that hadn’t happened yet? One that was already in motion? Something personal? Something spiritual?
So I prayed, asked the Lord to reveal what He wanted me to see, and thanked Him even without understanding.
Fast forward to today, and suddenly it hit me — of course. It’s Christmas.
Jesus Himself is the miracle.
Not just mine or my family’s, but the miracle of the entire world. Just the thought floods me with peace and overwhelming joy.
How beautiful that the mighty God who created heaven and earth loves us so deeply that He gave us the greatest gift imaginable - His Son, Jesus!
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” - John 3:16
Jesus came in the flesh as the fulfillment of every promise, every longing, every prophecy.
“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means ‘God with us’). - Matthew 1:23
He saw each of us in our mess, our brokenness, our hopelessness — and gave us a way out. Through Jesus, we’re given salvation, redemption, perfect love, hope, joy, and peace that the world cannot take away.
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests.” - Luke 2:14
I know Christmas can be a season of joy for many, but for others it can be painful, heavy, or complicated. This time of year looks different for everyone for so many reasons.
But no matter what your season looks like — whether you’re celebrating, grieving, rebuilding, or waiting — I pray you take a moment to reflect on the true milagro of Christmas and what it means for you personally.
Jesus is the true miracle.
The hope.
The promise.
The gift.
And He came just for you.
